Setting the scene...

Let's just set the scene here, I am a fundraiser and proud of it.  Many of you know that one of my favourite quotes is 'Fundraising allows ordinary people to change the world', so I am off to change the world.

My role as a fundraiser has given me endless opportunities, including travelling to Nepal to work with their Cancer Society on how to implement fundraising, visit East Timor to attend a Relay For Life, work with the NZ Cancer Society on their fundraising program, and now I get to go to the best fundraising conference around - the IFC Holland http://www.resource-alliance.org/ifc/.

The IFC is conference held in Holland with fundraising professionals from all over the world attending and I am super excited about going!  The main reason for setting up this blog is to let my team know about it as I go, and in my own words.  I've been sitting down with the program and trying to work out which sessions to go to, but it's tough!  I want to go to everything!  Am definitely going to sessions to see presenters that I can't see in Australia, but other than that, I'm undecided.  Guess that will give me something to do on the plane!

I am lucky enough to be going with someone, the amazing Ada, a volunteer of ours who is nominated for the International Volunteer of the Year award, after winning the Australian award earlier this year.  Ada received a full bursary to conference, so together we are off to conquer the conference!
